A Regent or a Council of Regency could fulfil the Monarch's functions - including the political ones - given an empty throne. Which would make it effectively a "crowned Republic".

With a Concil of Regency we could overcome the quaint principle of having one single person at the helm. Sounds good to me, given the Council of Regency would be an elected body. What about something like the Capitani Reggenti in San Marino?

I like that idea, and I'm sure the Republican caucus will happily endorse it as a compromise position. That said, I wonder what the more monarchically enclined or constitutionally agnostic Free Democrats think?

Council of Regency sounds like a grand idea; happy to fight for it in the Liberal Caucus.

Due to my newfound responsibilities as Party President, I am more than happy to step aside from the Senäts race for next time. Charlie, the nomination is yours, unless any other Fiovan wants to step up?
