Hello, Party Leader, Party Secretary, fellow members, and guests of the Free Democrat Convention of 2022.
As you all know, I am currently seeking leadership of the Party, as the current leadership are beyond exhausted, and deserve a well-earned retirement, and I thank both Miestră Schivă and Txec dal Nordselva for their many years of service to the Party, especially in their various roles in Party leadership over the past few years, and decline of the party, we would not still be around at this point without the efforts and care you have devoted to our cause.
As a party we have decided to go forward together, which I am personally grateful for, but I fully acknowledge the difficulties and concerns of the outgoing Party Leadership.
Myself and Ian Plätschisch will not be able to take us where we need to go alone, and the party is exhausted and needs to rest and refocus, as I have said in multiple places. I believe that we need to stand back from governance for a term, not because we are defeated, but because if we do not, the party will fail. And I do not want this to happen, and as it seems, neither does the majority of the party.
I do not suggest that we do nothing for a term however, we need to keep the next government accountable, so I, and those who are willing to step up, will do our best using the tools available to us, with terps, social media and recruitment, bolster our numbers and show the issues the next government will bring.
On recruitment, we will need to become more active in persuading newer citizens that we have a clear vision for Talossa, and that we are the party that can deliver the best future for the nation.
But currently, aside from Monarchy reform, cutting and simplifying red tape and out other party platforms, we do not have a clear vision, which is something else that, as leader I would want to engage with the membership to address, during the rest period will also come strategizing and refocusing on where our ideals and goals for Talossa are, Monarchy reform is and will be a key part of that, and in the inter party discussions, we need to evaluate what we as a party want out of reforms, in an ideal sense, and also look at what is realistically achievable with the current state of play. Alongside other ideals and policies we wish to bring when we next form a Government.
With this, the new party leadership will need the help and support of the party and this will need to be a regrouping from current and future members to regardless if I am elected or if another is.
All I know is with the party exhausted and nothing in Talossa happening to re awaken the passions of our membership, something needs to change, and the course of action I have set out, and propose to follow, I believe is the best for our Party, and ultimately for Talossa’s prospects.
Any comments or questions are welcome, and thank you all for your time.
