I accept this nomination. Please note that if I win the vote we'll have to elect a new Party Secretary, and that I will stand aside from the Fiova Senäts candidacy (and we should probably also elect a new ZRT secretary). I think Donald would also do a fine job, and we pretty much agree on "how" the party should be led and what our strategy should be. I think the question is: who do you think would be more capable of (a) keeping the party strong and united, and (b) winning government in the coming election? If your answer is "neither, you're both insane losers", then by all means nominate someone else, you have something like 18 hours.

Firstly, I want to thank Munditenens for being honest and upfront in this personally trying situation. You understand that the party is going to need a strong active leader and now is not your time. This just further demonstrates, in my eyes, that you were meant to be leader! I wish you well in whatever you are going through and I hope that you are able to return to us soon.
Some of you have doubted my ability to run a party. Is this gauged because I am unwilling to argue publicly? Is this gauged because I’m not well versed in legal terms and concepts? Is this gauged because you do not feel I can be a beacon of hope for our party? I’ve been in the trenches working on behalf of our party. I’ve championed activity, accountability, and kept a pleasant face in the community. I would continue to have these same traits as I lead our party to a successful Cosa session.
I am the quiet one publicly, Miestra is the vocal one. However, her vocalness is a double-edged sword. Do we need our party leader to be constantly bickering with a single individual? Wouldn’t we want the party to take a higher road? I don’t think this is possible under Miestra. We have heard many times that she would ‘tone it down’. This is quickly forgotten as soon as someone throws a jab or gets huffy. We need someone who will be able to put aside differences with outside party members and get things done. These things need to get done with the aid of our fellow Talossans - regardless of their stances or dislikes for individuals. I can do this.
We have already seen most of the individuals in our party stand out as a leader of the party, leader of the nation, and/or leader of another party. I urge everyone to give someone new a try at it. What’s the worst thing that could happen? Another botched Cosa like the last? There is so much more to gain by allowing new blood an opportunity. Bridges can be mended. New friends can be made. A new sense of hope for all Talossans can be founded. There needs to be a vibrant change in order to respark our community.
During our last Cosa, I was vocal about my displeasure for many things. I called it out. I asked for change for the better. I was advised ‘no’. I got heat for this. I was told to go public (so that others could humiliate me, per other party members). Instead, it seems as if our coalition parties’ were just waiting for us to replace the failed Ministers or at least reach out to them to ask about change. I am uncertain as to the back story over misunderstood communications, lack of communications, etc. However, I know that this has landed us in a bucket of hot oil. We can keep trying to make ourselves look like the stronger party in the issue but perception is everything. We have been shown as weak when it comes to making the hard decisions. We need to remind the nation that we can, and will, make these hard decisions in order to better the nation.
If I were elected as President, I’d seek to make a minority government that has outsourced Minister positions to specific individuals out of our party. I would set specific goals and timelines. Individuals would be held accountable to their timeline or face removal from their position. I’d continue to push for reform in regards to the Monarch. I would also work hard to bring provincial governments and politics to the national forefront. It is time for the provinces to shine alongside the national government.
It is time we learn to put aside our differences between parties. It is time for us to rebuild our nation. I am the one that can do this. Please vote for me so that we may have the shining future I see for us.

I'm not going to campaign this time - what you see is what you get - but I'm available for any and all questions, from my esteemed opponent and all others.

Question to both candidates: what experience do you have which makes you qualified to essentially be our candidate for Seneschal, and which successes can you point to in previous roles which makes you the best candidate??

Cxhn. M. T. P. da Biondeu has apparently pulled out of the race based on early (and improperly revealed) results. I would like to know what other Party members think we should do from now. I am unwilling to proceed unless there is OVERWHELMING agreement that the election result as it should stand.

It's my fault. I didn't see the hide results option until just now. I did try to be thorough though. This is my first time running an election.

Well, since the other candidate has just publicly quit the party and cursed us for a bunch of weasels, then I suppose we can move on - but I'll give 24 hours from now to see if anyone else wants to re-open the election.

OKAY HERE'S THE NEWS. I provisionally accept the role of Party President and will start acting as such. But to make things nice and legal, I want to make this notion:
Can I have a seconder? If there are no objections once we have a seconder, we can declare this passed without dissent.

Seeing as how the challenger has both conceded the race and left the party, I would like to second this motion and, without objection, congratulate our new President, Miestrâ Schivâ !
